To compose Afternoon Delight, master perfumer Carlos Benaïm looked to evoke the transporting feeling that famed French author Marcel Proust immortalized in his 1913 novel “À la recherche du temps perdu”. In the novel, the narrator tastes a madeleine dipped in tea, taking him back to his childhood. The madeleine has since come to symbolize taking a moment to pause and recall the memory of a fleeting indulgence. The first time you light your Afternoon Delight scented candle, let it burn for at least one hour until all the wax on the surface has melted.
